On August 8th, 2023 there were 3 wild fires that affected our island of Maui. Lahaina, Up Country, and Kihei suffered devastating and unimaginable tragedy. Like the destruction of Native Hawaiian land marks & historical places along with thousands of homes, businesses, and most of all the loss of many of our loved ones. As a Native Hawaiian born and raised from the island of Maui we at Sparky's hurt for our people and knew that we had to take action to do whatever we could to help support all of Maui in any way that we could. The following day we halted operations and opened up our doors for the community. We organized our restaurant as a hub for donations, allowing people to come and support in any way possible whether it be through help or donations. The amount of outpouring Aloha from the community and all over the world was truly a blessing and amazing to witness. With these donations we were able to send out hot meals & necessities for those affected in Lahaina and upcountry Maui, this also included our first responders and hospital personnel. We felt in our hearts it was our Kuleana (responsibility) as a Hui(group) to Malamapono (to take care of) our people of Maui. During this time of working together, we realized that the road to recovery for those affected could be long and burdensome.

several options on how you may help those affected.
